In Fall 2017, ASME organized a team of students to work on 3D printing projects with mechanical engineering professor Rafiq Noorani. The team built their own printer and are close to fixing another one. ASME also hosted a panel event with four professional engineers from industry.

Next semester, ASME plans to host a K-12 outreach event, as well as an industry event with LMU engineering alumni at Northrup Grumman. The club also plans to put on workshops that will utilize the newly renovated Engineering Design Center, and organize company tours of Moog and SpaceX for mechanical engineering students.

“We’re looking forward to hitting the ground running next semester and accomplishing as much as we can,” said Donner Schoeffler, ASME president.

If you’re interested in participating in any of these events, check out ASME! The club meets every two weeks. The executive board consists of:

  • President: Donner Schoeffler
  • Project director: Josh Bernardin
  • Treasurer: Jason Lumsden
  • Vice President: Matt Navaro
  • Secretary: Sean Nevin
